Participants in this panel will have the opportunity to hear from and speak directly with recent alumni who applied for and are currently enrolled in medical schools across the country. Aidan Crowley, Notre Dame ’21

Aidan is a second-year MD-PhD student in Health Care Management and Economics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2021 as a Stamps Scholar with a B.S. in Neuroscience & Behavior and minors in Poverty Studies and Compassionate Care in Medicine. During her first year of medical school, she founded the Future Doctors in Politics group, led the Cornfeld Pediatric Society, and started a new program for medical students to write memoirs for people receiving hospice care. She also led the street medicine program, served as the Quality Improvement Coordinator for one of Penn’s student-run free clinics, and led the Children’s Homeless Health Initiative. Aidan conducts research on the Payment Insights Team through the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, where she studies the design of alternative payment models and integrated systems of delivery to enhance alignment of incentives for health care organizations, payors, and the clinical workforce. Prior to medical school, Aidan worked as a research assistant at Mayo Clinic, a health policy research fellow for a congressional campaign, and a research assistant in the Section of Health Services Research at the University of Copenhagen.

Robert Wasson, Ole Miss ’21

Robert Wasson is a second-year medical student at the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. He currently conducts research in the physiology department, volunteers with the Jackson Free Clinic, and is a class representative for the Carl G. Evers Society. A native of Madison, Mississippi, Robert graduated from the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi in 2021, where he received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. As a Stamps Scholar at Ole Miss, he was inducted into the Student Hall of Fame and served as president of the Engineering Student Body. He lives in Jackson with his wife, McKenzie.

Chinwe Udemgba, Ole Miss ’21

Chinwe is a second year MD student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She is originally from Natchez, Mississippi and graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2021 as a Stamps Scholar with a B.S. in Chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry and minors in Mathematics and Biological Sciences. During her time in medical school, she served as community outreach for the pediatric student-run free clinic on the southside of Chicago where she connected with local schools to provide physicals and immunizations to underinsured children. In addition, she served as the inaugural leader of the Rural Medical Student Association chapter at Pritzker where she fostered a community for students from rural backgrounds moving to a large city and introduced speakers to share the unique challenges that are seen in rural areas. She also mentors and counsels on a variety of levels including minority high school students with health related interests, minority college students with the desire to join the medical field, and adults living on the southside with the desire to control their high blood pressure. In her role as president of Knitzker, the knitting and crocheting club at Pritzker, she created a space to learn knitting and crocheting skills with an emphasis on mental health and wellbeing. She partnered with Chicago Street Med to create an annual event in which medical students create winter gear for the homeless population of Chicago. After publishing research related to polymer synthesis for uses in drug delivery, Chinwe pivoted her research interests in medical school to minority access to pediatric palliative care and resource utilization. Her current medical interests include primary care, rural medicine, and LGBTQ+ health., University of Georgia ’22
