EST

We are thrilled to be hosting some of our esteemed alumni on Monday, Feb. 27th at 6 PM EST for a virtual Q&A panel on applying to prestigious graduate scholarships. Participants in this panel will have the opportunity to hear from and speak directly with recent alumni who applied for and won Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, Goldwater, and Gates Cambridge Scholarships. Please see bios on our panelists below (more to come), and complete this form to register and submit any questions they may have regarding preparing and applying to graduate scholarships.

Claire Bunn, University of Georgia ’22

Claire Bunn graduated as a Stamps Scholar and Foundation Fellow from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Genetics in May 2022. During her time at UGA, she participated in undergraduate research both at UGA and Vanderbilt, worked as a campus tour guide, volunteered in local Athens schools, and received the Goldwater Scholarship her junior year in recognition of her research efforts. Upon graduation, she received a Gates Cambridge scholarship and is pursuing a PhD in Physiology, Development, and Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge. She currently studies lung development and stem cell biology in the laboratory of Dr. Emma Rawlins with hopes of becoming a physician-scientist.

Tommy Hall, United States Military Academy ’22

Tommy Hall was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Graduating with a BSc in Chinese at West Point, he is a first-generation college student and the first in his immediate family to serve in the military. As an undergraduate, his Stamps Scholarship research focused on applying multidisciplinary approaches to China-related issues. This led him to establish the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies’ Human Rights Initiative: a team of cadets that work with experts to produce research about contemporary examples of genocide and crimes against humanity. He was twice published in the Cyber Defense Review and has presented at five domestic and international panels. He is currently serving in the U.S. Army as a Quartermaster (Logistics) Second Lieutenant and studying Chinese Studies as a Marshall Scholar at SOAS, University of London.

Felita Zhang, United States Military Academy ’22

Felita is a first-year student at Harvard Medical School and in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program. She is a former Stamps Scholar and recent graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where she majored in Life Science. While at West Point, she conducted research on the synthesis of lightweight, cost-effective technology that can be incorporated into biomedical devices to monitor health. She also led efforts on women’s empowerment in the military. She was awarded the Barry Goldwater and Harry S. Truman Scholarships and is also a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. She hopes to expand accessibility of women specific healthcare in both the military and globally through establishing women’s health education programs for healthcare providers, while providing them with the latest biomedical technology.
