Chaffee has spent more than two decades working with the nation's best and brightest college students, joining Georgia Tech and the Stamps President's Scholars Program and Office of Special Scholarships in August 2011. Selected for a similar undergraduate merit award in North Carolina, he has experienced scholarship programs as both participant and administrator, and he is keenly aware of the challenges, opportunities and responsibilities highly talented students encounter. Chaffee earned his master's and bachelor's degrees from North Carolina State University and spent the early part of his professional career there with the Park Scholarships and Caldwell Fellows programs. He has also worked for Duke's and UNC-Chapel Hill's Robertson Scholars Program and recently ended his term as president of the Undergraduate Scholarship Program Administrators Association. Chaffee lives in Marietta, GA, with his wonderful family including his wife Kate and his boys, Liam and Colin.
